LOCATION: Again this year, the Residential Camps will be held on the UAB Campus. UAB facilities will be throughout the week. West Campus Field, the home of the Blazer soccer teams, will be used for training. Campers will be housed in Blazer Hall, a new dormitory which opened in June, 2006. The dorms have air-conditioned rooms and private baths in each suite. Campers will eat all meals at the new dining hall. Camp staff will provide around-the-clock supervision of all campers.

ADVANCED CAMP - July 18 - 22, 2010 • Girls Ages 10-18
Paul Harbin’s UAB Girls Soccer Advanced Camp for residential and commuter campers is designed to provide soccer players with advanced training and an opportunity to improve their game in a challenging and exciting environment. The format of the camp has been carefully planned to provide an atmosphere geared toward guiding the serious soccer player to a new level of performance.
Coach Harbin has brought together a staff of energetic and enthusiastic college coaches along with professional and college players eager to provide high level training for the advanced player. Camp sessions are conducted in the same organized manner as the UAB team practices. The innovative and challenging methods that have proven successful for the Blazers will be used to help you reach your own personal goals.
Throughout the week, Harbin and his staff meet several times a day to assess the progress of the camp. Based on those evaluative sessions, the daily sessions are then modified to meet the particular needs of the campers attending. Everything possible is done to insure a personalized challenging environment.
Examples of those attending Advanced Camp:
• Camper plays on a travel team; the team is good and the players are becoming serious.
• Camper plays for her high school team and does well. She wants to work on her skills and improve her game.
• Camper is 12. She wants to improve her skills and her understanding of the game. She wants to see how good she can be.
ELITE CAMP - July 18 - 22, 2010 • Girls Ages 10-18
The Elite Camp is designed for the player who is seriously interested in playing soccer in college or beyond. The biggest challenge for players entering the college game is dealing with the much faster speed of play and the more demanding physical nature of the game. These training and playing sessions will be geared towards preparing players to successfully deal with those challenges. Special emphasis will be placed on technical speed, quicker tactical decision making, and learning how to push through the demanding physical parts of the game.
Coaches working with this group will have coached at the college, professional or national team level.
Players should be technically sound and in good physical shape to maximize their camp experience.
It's recommended that elite campers meet at least one of the following criteria:
• State, region or national team experience
• Selected to an all-league, all-county or all-state team.
• Play for a highly competitive club team.
