Girls Ages 5-11

UAB Campus, West Campus Field

Summer 2010 marks the 15th year for the girls only day camps at UAB. The girls only camps have been extremely popular and successful. And, once again, we expect the 2010 version to be better than ever. While attending, campers will learn individual skills and the basics of team play. Since this may be the first camp experience for many of our young soccer players, particular care is taken in staff selection to ensure that quality instruction is provided in a fun and exciting environment.

LATE PICK-UP: Daily pick-up is from 4:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Late pick-up is available each day from 4:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. for an additional fee of $15.00. Campers may register for late pick-up when they send in their application or at registration on the first day of camp.

GOALKEEPER TRAINING: The UAB Girls Soccer Camp has a unique philosophy regarding younger aged soccer players. While many camps separate the players into goalkeepers and field players, we feel this results in young goalkeepers not having the opportunity to develop their field skills as well as not allowing the field players to have a better understanding of the goalkeeper position. Instead of being trained as a goalkeeper or field player, campers are trained to be complete soccer players. Each camper will receive a full day of goalkeeper instruction in addition to learning the skills necessary to be a successful soccer player.
